At seventeen, she decided to get married. Her choices after this were always made for us. As time moved, so did her life journeys. But now, she makes choices that have nothing to do with us and everything to do with her. See she knows it’s never too late find joy out of life.
My mother decided that she was ready to remodel the house that we grew up in. The house which in 1979, was a purchase her young wisdom encouraged my father do for the family. Everything, was done for my brother and I. She always wanted us to have better. To some this may have been considered to be an average accomplishment, but during that time in our family this was a major dream.
Lessons Learned
In this house, my brother and I learned some valuable lesson, in bonding, laugher, love, trust, death, heartache and integrity. I will admit, we even caused our own raised eye brow moments, too. But, her choice was a good one as this showed us the value of home ownership.
So, during a church revival Pastor asked those in the congregation to put the desires of their heart down on paper, and to be specific in what they ask God for. He pulled out several slips and read their requests. Pastor also prayed for the individual who’s slip was pulled that night
Well guess who’s slip was pulled last? YOU guessed it… my mother’s. The pastor was the first one to sew a seed into her desire which is to have much needed repairs done & remodel her home.
Yesterday, my mother walked slowly & deliberately in Home Depot, Sam’s Club & Ashley Furniture. She stood back and watched my brother & I with so much pride as we talked and laughed. But, this day wasn’t about us… it was about her. We were there to support her. She tested mattresses, selected colors & furniture.
Like me and so many other women my mother is in a new season in her life, and she is going through her journey FEARLESSLY. Remember the older we get doesn’t mean that everything is a wash it’s never too late Ladies – please don’t think it is.

Loving yourself, dont care if anybody tell you something good.
Aunt Joan words of wisdom that resonates within me. However, I know for many women this is a struggle because they rely so heavily on family and friends to support them. These women will get discouraged and quit. But, there is a way to have J O Y in your Journey and that is by having a relationship with GOD. God will place the right supporters, cheerleaders, encouragers, accountability partners, resources, etc. in your life to help guide you in your purpose. You will even gain boldness, confidence, fearlessness, etc. in the process. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and reading my post. I appreciate you very much.

Clarence, I appreciate all the support you give to me. I know sometimes it can seem you have no place in my dreams, but you just don’t realize how you have been the one who has worked so hard to ensure I’m able to without worry go toward my dreams.
