THOUGHT OF THE DAY

Her life is for a purpose.  See…..what she shares with me goes beyond any reasoning.  She is my sister-girlfriend.  Placed in my life by God, because our meeting wasn’t by chance; but it was truly God’s plan.  When I met my sister, my friend…she was in a battle.  Not a battle she enlisted in. No, it was one she was drafted for.  Her battle was the “C” word.  Yes…that word that each and everyone of us has had a direct or indirect encounter with, at some point in time.  But, my sister is a helleva… fighter.

She never thought of no chance, instead she worked every day through treatments, hospital visits, numerous operations, and that other stuff life decided to throw at her.  Nicole thank you for fighting for your children, your family, yourself, and selfishly I will admit… for the sisterhood you didn’t know was going to bring me so much JOY.

Medicines and technology have been developed to help our loved ones in their fight. And, I’m grateful that women of color are a part of a history that is continuously being written every day, in this battle that doesn’t discriminate.

So, today for a Black History highlight the spotlight is put on Dr. Jane Cooke Wright.
