Valentine’s Day…Ugh! This  can be an emotionally weighted holiday. It conjures up all sorts of emotions for women.  But, there is one thing for sure;
            All you really need is self-love to get through it….. without feeling emotionally overloaded

before and after February 14.  This year, I challenge you to try something different.  What do I mean… you ASK????  
Let me explain… see some of you reading this may be or you know someone who is in a Valentine’s Day funk.  The kind of funk that no amount of candy could make sweet.  It’s hard to see… getting out of a funk that has developed over years through hurt and loneliness.  That’s why, I’m putting out a Self-Love Challenge for my ladies who want to make a change during this season.

 I’m challenging you today to make a purposeful impact to treat yourself just like you would treat someone closets to you; such as a husband, significant other, partner, children, friends etc…. I could go on, but you get my point. 

HOW THE CHALLENGE WORKS…

Ladies, we will need to stop complaining about pointless things as it relates to Valentine’s Day and just simply…. be Your own Valentine!

Yes, be your own Funny Valentine as Chaka Khan sings…  Being your own Valentine changes the game and guess who wins?…..Yup, you guessed it YOU!!!! So, no more undercover envy when you see your co-workers receiving gifts at work, no more being shady when your BFF calls to talk about her plans for Valentine’s Day.  Oh, and let me not forget, the picture of you rolling your eyes and shaking your head at all the proposals being posted on Instagram and Facebook – top that off with you sending out an emotionless, “Congratulations…💗”.  

See, this challenge allows you to celebrate YOU… on February 14, because you deserve it!  We’re all aware that self-love should occur more than one day out of a year, but some of us have to start at some time.  So…. why not start now?  I want to reassure you that you won’t be disappointed in what you decide to do for yourself.

         To help you start, I have given you a few suggestions below to try…. on, before, or even after your first Self-Love Day

9 Ideas to make your Self-Love Day Sweet


💗1.   Buy yourself something new that you can afford.

💗2.   Don’t look at your phone for the evening.

💗3.   Go see a movie you want in the middle of the week or during that week.

💗 4.   You can mail cards or handwritten notes to the children or elderly relatives in your life.

💗 5   Make yourself a Super Chunky Knit Throw Blanket by hand – no knitting experience needed. YouTube has plenty of tutorials.

💗 6.  Buy yourself a bouquet of flowers.  You know what you love.

💗 7.  Go out with your girlfriends and giggle for a few hours.

💗 8.  Start a self-love journal.  Go to the craft store & purchase colorful and pretty stickers, pens, ribbons or any other supplies needed to personalize your journal. 

💗 9.  JUST START and come up with other ideas that work for you.
